It’s about to get sex-e!
If you play any TTRPG regularly, you’re bound to run into the player who attempts to seduce random NPCs and monsters. This blog started because I was simultaneously playing a character who’s mission was to spread the word of his goddess through monster fucking in one TTRPG and my GM of my second TTRPG was anxious about how to deal with a player dead-set on seducing a dryad at a table with teenage players.
In game one, where I play a slightly nihilistic cleric following the goddess of lust and trickery, Calistria, I successfully seduced a mindflayer. This was an all-adult game and many jokes were made at my expense. Ultimately, my GM laughed it off when the dice went my way and “punished” me, the player, by requiring a short story detailing Declan and the Mindflayer.
In game two, the player who was determined to seduce the dryad was dominating the table with his quest. This was very stressful for my second GM because of the presence of teenagers at the table.
Both scenarios got me thinking. How should GMs handle players when they try to seduce NPCs and monsters? Was there a guide? How does the sex even begin to work with some of these creatures?
There are so many forms of sex and reproduction in the animal kingdom that I began a mental game with my friends of what kinds of sex and reproduction different monsters would have. Some were pretty obvious, like werewolves with their extended fandom and vast amounts of published smut, but some were more puzzling. Beholders reproduce asexually, but how would they respond to a sexy PC with a lucky dice roll?
Thus DnD Sex(e) was born. This is intended to be a humorous resource for any GM/DM who would like to have an easy answer to that gleeful cry of “I want to seduce them! Oooh! Nat 20!!”
***This may be obvious, but this blog contains sexually explicit (always consensual) encounters between a generic PC (a male human bard) and a vast variety of monsters. Read at your own risk.***
