DnD Sex Edition

A response to any player who has said "I roll to seduce the monster! Nat 20!!"

Nat 20 to Seduce a…Basilisk

The basilisk is a medium-sized (by TTRPG standards), 8-legged lizard that is most notably known for its ability to turn adventurers into stone with a glance. They mostly live alone or in a small group of up to six, identifying other basilisks by smell to avoid the petrifying gaze (source 1). They live in burrows or dens in many areas, but avoid the colder climates. They have an Intelligence of a 2 so they’ll fall into the can’t give consent rule.

The nearby statuary in various states of destruction indicates this most likely is a basilisk den that you are approaching. The idea of possible twin lizard cocks makes you harder than the granite stone of some half eaten sheep? Goat? Whatever animal that was you just passed. Knowing you won’t be able to look at your potential lover, you’ve come prepared with a bottle of basilisk pheromones. You pull it from your pack, open it to release the scent, and begin performing the mating ritual you once observed from a distance. You start with a consistent head bob before dropping into a set of push ups. Heavy, slow steps approach and you look from the ground to mark 4, then 6, and finally 8 clawed feet stalking into your peripheral vision. A male? A female? The creature is too large to be a juvenile, which is all you were concerned about. They need to be of mating age.

Make a DC 15 Performance Check to see if the PC can make the basilisk stone hard.

On a success: The basilisk begins to move a bit more quickly, mimicking your behavior. Pleased, you risk a glance up to note the spines on the back of the basilisk are more erect and the creature you’ve been working hard to seduce is male. You fail to notice that your courtship dance has gone unnoticed however. An angry hiss, reminiscent of a cobra, sounds from behind you. Turning towards the threat, you face a very territorial and angry female basilisk.

Make a save against the gaze effect (DC 12 Con in 5e or DC 15 Fort in Pathfinder). The female basilisk attacks in a surprise round and the male joins her in attacking the PC during the first round.

On a fail: The basilisk begins to move a bit more quickly, mimicking your behavior. The wind shifts, however, bringing your distinctly human (or other PC race) scent to the creature. The 8-legged creature stills and studies you for a moment before uttering a barking call. The unmistakable sound of several more basilisks approaching stills your mating dance.

Add 1d6 basilisks to the fight and initiate combat.
