DnD Sex Edition

A response to any player who has said "I roll to seduce the monster! Nat 20!!"

Nat 20 to Seduce a…Darkmantle

Darkmantles are a delightful cross between an octopus and a possessed umbrella. They enjoy hanging from ceilings in caves as they have very limited vision, mostly use echolocation, and thrive on drop attacking creatures. They are hermaphroditic, lay eggs, and have a relatively short life span (source 1).

While it’s tempting to think of darkmantle sex as similar to that of an octopus, cephalopods are not hermaphroditic. It does not really matter though because they have a low intelligence score (blog rules) and cannot give consent for bard/monster hook-ups. Reminder that darkmantles are very good at stealth so to even roll the seduction check, the PC would have had to also seen it in the first place. As always, we’re starting from the point of the player having already made a nat 20 seduction roll.

You step further into the cavern, scanning the darkened corners for possible threats or treasures. You hope your overwhelmingly sexual energy and seductive performance are enough to signal to the creature hidden among the stalactites that you are interested in hooking up. Even though you’re sure it’s there, the shadows are thick and shift oddly above you. The moment stretches out and nothing happens. It does not appear to be interested in what you’re offering.

As you reach down to readjust the most excited party member, the one in your pants, your vision is darkened and a thick rubbery cloak envelops your head. You try to breathe, but you cannot. The experience reminds you of that asphyxiation kink the merrow had. Your body tenses with sexual energy even as your mind starts to realize you need to escape before you go unconscious.

Take 1d6+3 damage (5e) or 1d4+4 damage. The PC needs to make a DC 13 Strength check (5e) or DC 17 combat maneuver or escape artist check (Pathfinder). Initiate combat.

For every round that the PC does not escape, make a DC 12 Constitution check to see if they take more damage per round. In Pathfinder, failing this Con save will result in progression of strangulation rules.
